The course of the Arlberg Giro offers ups and downs that ambitious road cyclists love: First it goes from St Anton up to the Arlberg pass, then through the Klostertal down to Bludenz, into the Montafon, over the Bieler Höhe into the Paznauntal and finally via Pians back to St Anton. Whoever reaches the highest point of the route, the Bieler Höhe at 2,032 metres above sea level, the fastest, will receive the coveted title of "King of the Mountain" in the mountain classification there.
